Businesss Directory has a built in sponsorship functionallity. It allows the site administratory to optionally assign a sponsorship level to a listing.
The choices are:
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Platinum Sponsor |
Gold Sponsor |
Silver Sponsor |
Contest/Event Sponsor |
Content Contributor |
By design, sponsorship levels give you the opportunity to assign a sponsorship level higher priority in your list. This results in more exposure for the company and hopefully allows you the ability to increase your monetization.
In this example we will assume that you have the desire to sort your list by Platinum Sponsor, Gold Sponsor, Silver Sponsor, Contest/Event Sponsor, Content Contributor, with standard listings at the bottom of the list and you have checked the box (show sponsor link) on listings that are sponsored.
On your XMod form, the sponsorship levels are presented in a select1 dropdown box.
The values for the sponsorship levels are as follows:
Platinum Sponsor value = 5-Platinum
Gold Sponsor value = 4-Gold
Silver Sponsor value = 3-Silver
Contest/Event Sponsor value = 2-Contest-Event
Content Contributor value = 1-Content-Contributor
We wil assume that, as administrator, you have also assigned a sponsorship level to only enhanced listings.
Sorting a list by sponsorship level
- On you listings (XMod action menu) go to Configure Your XMod Module >> Display Settings >> Default Sorting
- In the form field select cboSponsor
- In the sort order field select descending
- Check the box - Use Item Value (applies only to list-type fields)
- Save Changes
