For those of you that are not familiar with the Data Springs Opt In Email module it is a very impressive tool that we use for managing our email newsletters and marketing campaigns for our sites and recommend it to our clients.

Recently I had a client contact me regarding a site running DNN 5.1.4 and the fact that they started recieving an error when accessing the Opt in email quick menu of the Opt in - Opt in Email module.

Opt in email module error

Thinking it was an Ajax issue or possibly caused by the use of a third party URL rewiter, I contacted Chad Nash at Data Springs.

Chad had performed some extensive tests and came to the conclusion that the issue was being caused by the Default language bug that was originally reported in DNN 5.1.2.

This issue is caused by a change to the default language handling which results in a new website not creating an entry in the Languages table.

I instantly had one of those "DUH" moments and rememberd that I had already written an article on the default language error fix:

See DotNetNuke 5.1.2 Default Language Error Fix and here is thelink to the DNN support issue.

After recommending to my client that they perform the DotNetNuke 5.1.2 Default Language Error Fix mentioned in my article Opt In Email is now working flawlessly.

If you are looking for a top notch email module for DotNetNuke, I recommend that you learn more about Chad's Data Springs Opt In Email module by clicking here.
