Hi Peter,
Thank you for your questions.
1. Does it allow customer users to register and add their own products as well as reviews?
Review It is an application built for users of the DNN module named XMod.
As the Administrator of your portal, you set which security roles can add listings in the Configure XMod Module >> Security Settings.
As an example, I gave the security role, Demo, permission to add review listings in the Kick the Tire Demo.
2. Is it possible to have the 'comment on reviews' section user only? rather than people simply being able to type any name in? (also in kick the tire section the comment would not show up when i tried to add one..?)
Yes. Setting: allowcomments="registered" will allow comments by registered users
Currently the Xmod:comments tag is configured for all users.
allowcomments="all"
Reference: XMod:Comments
The reason you did not see your comments during your demo test is that the user reviews (Comments) are flagged for approval by the Admin.
Below is a screenshot of your comments on your demo listing prior to my approval.

3. Can users add reviews to someone elses review (seperate to making a comment on it or is comment the same as review?) I noticed some products in the demo had (5 reviews) in the details.
The terms comments and reviews mean the same thing.
4. I see you have created a 'most recent reviews section' can you also have a '5 most popular' (based on ratings) and also what does your 'featured' function actually do?
Due the fact that the application is written for XMod, you have the ability to customize the application or write additional forms and templates.

Tony Harrison, owner of the FatGeorge Corp and fello XMod MVP, is available for XMod customization work.
5. Is the Review it! module all I need to add to the DNN open source platform. i.e. there are no other costs required other than the cost of Review it! $97?
System Requirements:
All DNN professor XMod powered applications require pre-purchase and pre-installation of:
DNN 4.7+ , XMod 5.1+ (current upgrade version 5.5.4), and FatGeorge File Upload Control 3.2.0+
Note: If you are using DotNetNuke 5+ you will need XMod 5.5+ and the FatGeorge FileUpload control 3.5.3+ (If you have purchased the 3.2 version an upgrade patch is available from FatGeorge on snowcovered.com in the patches and hot fixes section. |
