Buck's Summary:
I have to admit that when Don Worthley, developer of metaPost, first brought the product to my attention, I did not pay much attention to it.
At the time, it was promoted as a bridge between Microsoft Word and DotNetNuke.
I did not have much use for all of the superfluous meta tag code that Word renders to the HTML code and, looking back, I wrongly ignored this product.
But, with the integration of Windows Live Writer it drew my attention.
Kelly Ford, developer of Xmod, Tony Harrison from the FatGeorge Company, and I were discussing a way to integrate code examples into our blogs.
Tony had suggested that we look at Windows Live Writer.
That day we discovered a solution using Windows Live Writer directly and began posting to our blogs.
I began to think why stop at the blogs module, I use the Ventrian NewsArticles module in all of my sites and I wanted to also have this publishing ability for the Ventrian module as well.
Tony then suggested that I look at metaPost. I sson discovered that it not only had the ability to integrate with Scott mcCulloch's Ventrian module but also had the ability to make direct desktop publishing available for other popular modules as well.
I then contacted Don and asked him to send me metaPost for testing.
I was impressed at the ease of installation and the documentation that he provided.
The next day, Kelly Ford then Skyped me and said, "Buck, you gotta see this. I found a method to integrate Syntaxhighlighter and the PreCode Snippet plugin for Windows Live Writer into my blog module!"
I decided to configure metaPost on my blog and here is an example of the result of the integration.
Next, I configured metaPost for the Ventrian module and soon discovered that all integration points for the NewsArticle module were available to me through the metaPost proider for the module.

I am looking forward to implementing the additional metaPost providers and I am finding this product a time-saving and useful tool for my production work.
